VA Wax Academy (formerly The Pink Lotus Beauty Bar & School of Waxing) was founded in 2017. We are a state certified Wax Technician educational facility approved by the state of Virginia. We are located in Newport News, Virginia and offer several course options. For beginners we offer a 115 hour Certified Wax Technician Course. For licensed esthetician and cosmetologist, we offer a 4 hour face and full body course. We also have a wide selection of advance courses that can be taken as a certified wax technician, licensed esthetician or cosmetologist to increase your level of expertise. We are a Virginia State Certified Wax School.

(WE are NOT an esthetician school).

After Completion of this course, you may take the State Board exam to receive your Wax Technician's License. This License is only valid in VA.

This is a hybrid program. (115-hours total online and face-to-face)

This program is NOT online only.
- **Face to Face is reporting to class on your scheduled days
- **Online is at your leisure during your class begin to end date.
Your start date depends on your CHOSEN schedule date.
Your time of completion depends on your schedule.
Any missed days will be made up.
Supplies needed for in-school only will be provided, including book.
Scrubs or all black attire is recommended.

Wax Instructor's Program

TUITION: $3,500. (Must be paid in full)

This course will prepare you teach students the correct way to wax. It will also help you be prepared to run your own school.

NO STATE BOARD TEST!!

You will be written off at completion. You will then turn your training and verification form to DPOR to pay for your paper license.

YOU MAY ONLY RECEIVE THIS LICENSE IF YOU HAVE YOUR VA WAX TECH LICENSE!

This License is only valid in VA.

*12-week program (Online & Face to Face)

*2 Days a week (in class) Current choice of days- Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays

About

Cluster Lashes Class

TUITION: $300

In this class, you will learn to install cluster lashes (Not Individual/Mink lashes) on mannequin and live model. These lashes normally last about 2-3 weeks.

***You do not need a license to perform this service on a client

This class covers:

*Care & Maintenance

*Kit Included with mannequin

These classes are held on Sundays or Mondays and is 3 hours long.

Advanced Courses

To enroll in our advanced courses, you must have a Wax tech, esthetician or cosmetologist license. The State Board Refresher Course is for our students that have delayed taking the State Board Exam (Please know, State Board information is subject to change so please be up to date).
